How-To Port

Vodacom VSP2 sims cannot be ported using *130*7422#.
Do not RICA sim cards before using SMARTRICA to port to an Awesim Cell C sim as you will receive an error and you won't be able to port the sim card.

To Awesim Cell C


1. How to port to an Awesim Cell C sim using SmartRICA
  • Use a non-RICA'ed Awesim Cell C sim card
  • Dial *130*7422# select 'Option 2' to port, and then from the non-RICA'ed sim select Cell C as the network
  • Follow the instructions to RICA and PORT to an Awesim Cell C sim using your customers' details
  • Once done, the customer will receive a SMS with an authorisation code within 5 minutes

  • 2. Port authorise
  • To authorise the port, dial *130*7422#, select 'Option 2' and Cell C as the network
  • Select 'Port Authorise' and type in your customers' cell phone number
  • Enter the authorisation code that your customer received via SMS
  • The port will then be processed wihin 24 hours. Once your customer's old sim stops working, they can use their new Awesim Cell C sim.

  • 3. Port query
  • Dial *130*7422# and select 'Option 3' to check the status of your port at any time.

    To Awesim Vodacom


    How to port to an Awesim Vodacom sim
  • RICA a new Awesim Vodacom sim in the customer's name
  • From your customer's phone, SMS "PORTME" & the new Awesim Vodacom sim serial number to 082 767 8287
  • Your customer will receive 3 SMS'es
    1.Confirming the port
    2.Approving the port
    3.Date of the port
  • Insert the new Awesim Vodacom sim into the customers phone once the old sim stops working
  • Your customer must then dial '100' to activate their new Awesim Vodacom sim

    To Awesim MTN


    How to port to an Awesim MTN sim
  • RICA a new Awesim MTN sim in the customer's name
  • From your customer's phone, SMS PORTME# and the serial number of the new Awesim MTN sim to 083 767 8287
  • The customer's old network will stop working within 24 hours
  • Your customer must then dial '555' to activate their new Awesim MTN sim

    How to port to an Awesim Telkom sim
  • RICA a new Awesim Telkom sim in the customer's name
  • From your customer's phone, SMS PORTME#ID Number#iccid of the new awesim Telkom sim to 081 160 7678
  • Your customer can start using their new Awesim Telkom sim within 24 hours
